We couldn’t resist the temptation to use the magic of MapUp when faced with the news this week that MI5 is recruiting a new generation of Russian-speaking spies as tensions with Russia mount.
Details on their careers website states that applicants should be British, bright and discreet enough not to tweet the good news if successful. The role, described as “fascinating and rewarding” will cover “terrorism”, “espionage” and “potential threats to national security.”
We felt these were not necessarily the relevant keywords however, so we simply entered Russian AND Fluent and this was the result.
Do heed their advice though if you are thinking of applying: “Discretion is vital. You should not discuss your application, other than with your partner or a close family member, providing that they are British.” “You should not post on social media sites about your application.”
